As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, our communities in Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton come alive with festive cheer. Whether you’re new to Canada or have lived here for years, the upcoming season is a wonderful time to connect, celebrate, and feel at home. Here’s a look at some events and activities happening this season that will warm your heart and help you make new memories.

🎃 October Highlights — Halloween Fun

  • 🎃 The Locker at The Falls (Fenelon Falls) – October 31, 5–9 PM
    Family-friendly haunted walk and treats!

  • 👻 Haunted Halloween Trail (Haliburton) – Friday & Saturday nights through October
    0.7 km spooky trail walk at Winterdance Dogsled Tours (ages 12+).

    Pumpkin games, crafts, and light spooky fun for kids 12 and under.

    Adult dance party at the Pie Eyed Monk Brewery. Costumes encouraged!

🎄 November — Parades & Lights

  • 🎅 Lindsay Santa Claus Parade – November 23, 2 PM

  • Downtown Lindsay lights up as families gather to see floats, music, and, of course, Santa himself! Dress warmly, bring a thermos of hot chocolate, and enjoy this long-standing local tradition.

  • 🎅 Minden Santa Claus Parade – November 16, 11 AM

  • This charming evening parade is full of small-town warmth. Watch local groups, businesses, and community members spread holiday joy along Bobcaygeon Road.
    Starts at S.G. Nesbitt Arena, followed by Christmas in the Village at the Cultural Centre (11–3 PM).

  • ✨ Fenelon Falls Festival of Lights & Santa Day – Late November to Early January

  • Take a stroll through the illuminated falls area and enjoy thousands of twinkling lights reflected on the water. It’s a must-see event and perfect for a cozy evening walk with friends or family.
    Parade (5 PM) and fireworks (6 PM) on Santa Day; lights run all season long!
